As world industry expels megatons of pollution and as nearly six billion people deplete the Earth's precious resources, it's sometimes hard to believe that a lightbulb here, a drawn shade there could possibly make a dent in the monumental task of preserving our environment. But as the Environmental Defense Fund informs us, "The energy we use at home accounts for about a fifth of U.S. global warming pollution."
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, roughly two-thirds of American adults are overweight or obese. The numbers have risen dramatically over the past twenty years, driving up health care costs even more than tobacco or alcohol. The trend has created a devastating impact in terms of quantity and quality of life for so many people. Why are so many facing this problem?
